First Floor Entry and Galleries
The education program at the New-York Historical Society receives over 200,000 school children annually to learn about the history of our city, state and nation. Meet the Presidents, a new permanent gallery tells the story of the development of the Office of the President and the Executive Branch. The highlight of gallery features an interactive recreation of the White House West Wing Oval Office. PBDW researched and designed the recreation of the Oval Office, including replica furniture, fabrics and carpet. Partners in research include the Reagan and Carter Presidential Libraries, the White House Historical Association and the Library of Congress.
